Description: Thank you to everyone who participated in International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) 2015! And thank you to everyone who shared your pictures and stories through InOMN social media! 554 sites registered this year–almost 100 more than in 2014.

To thank you for participating in this global celebration of lunar and planetary science, we are going to bounce you off the Moon!

Well, not you specifically. But, we are going to bounce the map of all registered InOMN 2015 events off the Moon as part of the OPTICKS live event on Tuesday, October 27. If you participated in an InOMN event, your event information will go to the Moon as radio waves!

We will also select 9 photographs to bounce off the Moon along with the InOMN event map, through a random drawing. If you took a picture during an InOMN event, or if you have or take a picture of anyone looking at or learning about the Moon that you would like to add to the drawing, post them to the InOMN Flickr or Facebook pages, or using #moonnight on Twitter by Sunday, October 25. If you participated in InOMN 2015 and haven’t yet registered your event, register by October 25 and you’ll be on the event map sent to the Moon. Links to the InOMN social media pages are available through http://observethemoonnight.org (scroll to the bottom of any page on the website).
