Description: How did the Earth-Moon system form and then evolve? Those are questions scientists and astronomers are still working on. Today we’re joined by Luke Dones from the Southwest Research Institute to talk about CLOE, the Center for Lunar Origin and Evolution.

Bios: NLSI brings together leading lunar scientists from around the world to further NASA lunar science and exploration.

Luke Dones is a CLOE co-investigator and a senior research scientist at Southwest Research Institute. Dr. Dones received a bachelor’s in physics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in astronomy from the University of California at Berkeley. His work on the CLOE project will be to calculate the rate of comet and asteroid impacts on the Moon during the last 4.5 billion years.

Nancy Atkinson is a science journalist and is the Senior Editor for Universe Today.
