An article by Tony about how Comet Elenin did not cause the earthquakes in Japan: http://www.deepastronomy.com/comet-elenin-japan-earthquake.html

Description: Many people have questions about Comet Elenin and whether it is actually a Brown Dwarf star. There is a lot of misinformation out there, but here is the science behind Comet Elenin.

Bio: I have worked in the field of astronomy all my life, my first job was at a school district planetarium in Boulder, Colorado. With the exception of a stint in the Army in the 1980’s I have worked in many aspects of astronomical research.

Most of my time has been spent writing software to retrieve, process and analyze data taken from telescopes. I have worked with data from some of the world’s largest ground-based and space-based telescopes: from the four meter Blanco telescope in Chile to the Hubble Space Telescope.

Astronomy education has always been a passion of mine since that first job at the planetarium, doing those shows really sparked an interest in helping people understand the night sky that has stayed with me my entire life. For the past five years I have written articles for my DeepAstronomy.com website and I produce astronomy videos for YouTube on the DeepAstronomy channel. I even did a brief tour as a blogger for AstronomyBuff.com.

I also produce a weekly space news vlog called Space Fan News.
