The very cool Emily Lakdawalla recently sent The 365 Days of Astronomy Podcast organizing committee (which she is a member of) an update on signups, from which I quote:
The good news is THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JANUARY IS NOW FILLED. Everybody drink a celebratory libation of your choice. I didn’t even need to use all the offers from people on this committee to fill open dates.
The bad news is that today is 30 days before the first show, and we haven’t received a single upload at ShareFile yet. Yikes. Most of the first week is our shows, and I’ve heard from the Jan 6 person that hers will be a few days late. Still, I’ll feel better when those submissions start coming in. (Mine will also be a few days late.)
The calendar stands at about half full.
We probably need to start looking at the open dates in February. Not too bad; only a third of the dates are open. At present the open dates include February 3, 5, 8, 11, 13, 14, 23, 27, and 28.
So, as I mentioned, if your show is in the first week or two of January you need to get us your audio as soon as possible. It will be very, very sad if people who reserved dates do not deliver their audio. At the very least, please let us know if it will be late and when we can expect it.
Thank you for the continuing volunteerism! I think once you get one show under your belt you are going to want to do more. So sign up early and often!
I expect my Feb 4th podcast could run long, so can I get Feb 5th as well?
Thanks 10^6!
Rich
By the way, my guest is Dr. Al Wootten the ALMA Project Scientist for North America instead of John Stoke. The Feb 5th date would be more on the same topic. I am set to record the show on Dec 17th. Should I just send you folks a CD-Rom with an IFF file on it? Maybe I’m old school… ;-D
