Feb 20th: Night Sky Friendly & Invisible Stuff
Today Travelers in the Night Sky discuss about how to preserve the night sky and the invisible material that speed up galaxies.
May 26th: A hidden map of the invisible magnetic Universe
As galaxies in a cluster slam into each other and the surrounding matter, they create bow shocks, causing movement of the plasma around these clusters. With the maps provided by the high-energy jets coming out of black holes, the task can be a little easier.
Apr 9th: The Disordered Cosmos with Dr. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein
This week we are very excited to welcome Dr. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein to talk about her book THE DISORDERED COSMOS: A Journey into Dark Matter, Spacetime, and Dreams Deferred, and news update about the helicopter on Mars.
Mar 15th: How You Could Overturn Cosmology
You’ve probably heard of dark matter and dark energy, but maybe you don’t fully understand what they are. Or maybe the idea itself just rubs you the wrong way and you’d like to know why scientists think they can just make stuff up like this. So you’d like to overturn cosmology? Here’s all you need to do.
Mar 11th: Supermassive Black Holes Could Form From Dark Matter
A new study proposed that supermassive black holes could form directly from dark matter in high density regions near the centers of galaxies, possibly explaining how these monsters came into existence early in our universe.
