Dr. Andres Plazas hosting Astronomy on Tap at Urban Chestnut in the Grove, on Sept. 24, 2018.

On Monday, Sept. 24, stargazers in St. Louis had a wonderful treat – they were able to relax with their favorite brews and talk astronomy! CosmoQuest’s Dr. Andres Plazas hosted Astronomy on Tap at Urban Chestnut in the Grove.

The crowd of about 35 was enthusiastic and enjoyed the event as Professor Ryan Ogliore discussed studying stardust as lithic astronomy, and then CosmoQuest’s Dr. Pamela Gay discussed the science of asteroids, how and why they could be mined, and the hazards of asteroid impacts as extinction-level events.

Keep your eyes out for more events like this in St. Louis, coming soon! Astronomy on Tap has events in many locations around the world – check their site for more information https://astronomyontap.org/
