Year after year, we’ve consistently noticed that when summer comes around, science slows down.
We’re hoping that this summer we can change that. One of the goals of the summer is to finish our initial crater mapping of Vesta, and once we’re done with craters, begin mapping additional features like boulders and crater blankets.
To kick off our let’s finish Vesta and celebrate Dawn at Ceres there will be a UStream from CalTech. These feed will feature:
- Small World Discovery 101, by Vishnu Reddy
- An overview of Dawn, by chief engineer Marc Rayman
- A panel discussion, by Jim Green, Carol Raymond, Dante Lauretta, Claudia Alexander, and Alan Stern. Moderation will come from the ever awesome Emily Lakdawalla
So, if you’ve got a moment for science this Saturday, tune in learn about the continued observations of this little mission to the tiniest rocky worlds.
