Looking back: Anniversaries
- Sir William Huggins Birthday: Born Feb. 7, 1824, Huggins was a preeminent British amateur astronomer. He built his own spectrometer and was the first person to take a spectrum of a planetary nebula. He also was the first to use spectrum to distinguish between nebulae and galaxies.
