Podcaster: Allen Versfeld

Title: Interview with Auke Slotegraaf

Link: http://www.urban-astronomer.com

Description: Alan Versfeld hosts. From Alan: “My guest this week is Auke Slotegraaf ( http://www.psychohistorian.org/ / @auke_s ) Director of the Deep Sky Section of the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa, (and I managed to mangle his name not once but twice – rather embarrassing) about astronomy, history, and more.  It runs a little long, at 50 minutes, but since that seems to be about the standard for interview-format podcasts, I don’t feel too bad.

Among the many hats Auke wears, he is involved with the Centre for Astronomical Heritage, a non-profit organization which aims to record, preserve, and disseminate information about, South Africa’s astronomical heritage.  If you have any interest in astronomy or history, I’d suggest you check them out.”

Each week we will have a random drawing for a prize package from our sponsor. Enter the code for this week into this site: https://cosmoquest.org/achievements/code for a chance to win.

This week’s code is HkdJvo . Enter it into the website to unlock the achievement and enter the contest.

Bio: Allen is an amateur astronomer, an IT professional, a podcaster, a father of five beautiful kids and a barely competent chess player. He is also the director of the Astrophotography Section of the Astronomical Society of South Africa, where he coordinates and promotes the activities of people who are far better photographers than him.
