Links: astroandmusic.blogspot.com

Original Paper: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1404.6458v1.pdf

Description: Cosmic discusses a paper submitted to Icarus titled ‘The Flux of Kilogram-sized Meteoroids from Lunar Impact Monitoring’.  The article describes the problem to be solved, the data collection method, data calibration, and the analysis of the data.  The results give us an indication of how much kinetic energy is released on impact and relates that to mass.  Cosmic identifies some additional measurements that can be made with the data.

Bio: Cosmic is a self- and crowd-funded independent research astronomer and space musician.
