Description: NASA Astronaut Rick Mastracchio is a veteran of 3 space shuttle missions and is presently a member of Expedition 38 on the International Space Station.

This is a recording of Rick’s interview on Cosmic Perspective, live on NASA TV from the Russian Cosmodrome, just few days before his Soyuz mission to the ISS. On Dec 23th & Dec 26th, Rick led an emergency spacewalk to successfully replace an ammonia pump that is used to help cool the ISS from the heat generated by the station’s electrical systems. Rick will continue to work & perform experiments on Expedition 38 until some time in May, when he will return to Russia on Expedition 39.
