String Theory interests me quite a bit lately, as scientists have seen "blips" of matter enter our three dimensional dimension from possible other dimensions.
So, let's look at dimensions this way.
Dimension 1
Dimension 2
Dimension 3
The above 3 dimensions make up our "physical" dimension.
Dimension 4 = Time
Dimension 5+ = ?
Basically, a theory I've heard about is that every bit of energy or matter that exists in our physical dimension has some kind of "friend" or "partner" equivalents in other dimensions. As such, we can also see blips of stuff appear or vanish in our dimension which possibly have greater parts which exist in other dimensions and don't fit so well here.
My question is this: Is it possible that animal or human consciousness has a "brother" or "partner" equivalent which exists in another dimension? And that it needs a specific combination or "key" to be able to exist in this particular dimension?
I know this may sound a tad religious or like a conversation that a psychedelic drug might bring on, but I'm an atheist who doesn't do drugs...
This string theory may be able to sort out many things which appear in our universe, which don't quite make sense. Perhaps we have scientific explanations for what consciousness is, but really, all it is is what we see with our own eyes and tests which are limited to our physical dimension. Therefore, isn't science quite limited in one sense?
Personally, I know this isn't science, but opinion, but life sure doesn't seem to "fit into" this cold, dark, expanding, large, universe of energy bursts. Perhaps we really do come from somewhere else...
Thoughts?
