Or is there censorship of certain words or phrases?
My forst post was posted immeadiately and my second didn't. I was informed it would need to be approved. Why is this? Can I post the truth here?

If your posts contain links, they will be held for moderation and posted later. This is to ensure that spammers don't come around and post advertisements or who-knows-what-else. You're perfectly allowed to post the truth, and it happens all the time on this site. After a few posts, this limitation will be lifted, as you will have been shown to not be a spammer (You know, the kind that make just one (irrelevant) post and leave). It happened for me, it happens for everyone. After a handful of posts, it's gone.
Clam down, take a deep breath, and repeat after me. "There is no conspiracy here."
Well, if you believe you're being treated unfairly, go PM a moderator. I'm sure he'll be willing to explain what's going on. I of course haven't seen your post so I can only guess.
I went through the same thing you're going through. It's alright, everything will be okay.
And please try to understand the difference between censorship and moderation.
I have answered this in the chemtrails thread, the short version is that CONSPIRACY REALIST you were a victim of the forum automatic software. If you have noticed I have now approved all your posts as far as I am aware. When you have posted a number of times, this will no longer be an issue for you.
I do not speculate about conspiracy theories. As my moniker here emplys, I concentrate or conspiracies that I know to be real. As far as I know, the chemtrail phenomenon is only considered a conspiracy because the program is not well publicized, though there is official documentation of it that is in the public domain.
Try not to let it bother you too much. I'm sure the software doesn't hold a grudge against you or your posts. Just a bunch of code. Acts strange sometimes (as was posted by Sticks in the other thread).
Makes me glad I'm not a mod here. And, no, I'm not volunteering. Looks like you got hands full.
While you are a "newbie" member, any post with links and/or a few key words that are common to spam posts will get held temporarily. Sometimes it can be hard to tell why a post was held by the board software, but either way, we'll have a look, make sure it isn't spam, and approve it through. Mods check the queue pretty frequently, so you won't have to wait too long for your post to appear.
We generally don't moderate for content in the mod queue over and above what we do for any post we read on our own time.
And the queue doesn't apply to Junior Members or older, so you're already well past it.
Just to add: I have noted a few rare instances where the board software held something for no reason I could fathom. Maybe this is one of those cases. Who knows.
mugaliens and CONSPIRACY REALIST please keep discussion of chemtrails to the appropriate thread and avoid any thread hijacking
There are certain keywords associated with spam that will trigger the board software to hold a newbie's post for moderator approval. Most are brand names or something similar ("iPhone", "Viagra"), but a few are descriptive words frequently found in spam ("cheap") but could be used innocently.
Your post count is well beyond the point where the software will censor it, so you shouldn't have any more problems along those lines.
Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.
Does the software send a message to a poster if their post has been held up for moderation, and if not, is it possible to do so?
As one who has only recently left this behind, yes it does. After you click submit, the next screen has a box which says 'your post is being held in a queue for moderation and will be posted shortly' or words to that effect.
Ah, good. Maybe a line like "For more information on why your post is being held for moderation, click Here." with a link to a post explaining the anti-spam measure.
It gets annoying having all these "where's my post?" "why am I being censored?" etc threads, but I don't blame them for thinking that's what's going on.
IIRC, the message appears only for a few seconds, and is easy to miss if you're not paying attention.
A solution entirely consistent with the spirit of the board would be to make not paying attention a banning offense.
Yah, but the FP mentioned seeing the message that indicates that the post would have to wait for approval. And the FP mentioned making another post that went straight through.
For someone who is even a little bit familiar with the Internet, that should be an obvious cue that reads "spam filter".
For someone who isn't terribly familiar with the Internet, it might be convenient to have something toward the top of the FAQ.
I don't think such additions would really cut down on the number of threads like this, though. I'm guessing it does take a certain level of paranoia to presume an act of deliberate censorship and start a new thread demanding to know what happened in a somewhat frantic tone. I'm also guessing that you could FAQ the planet and it still wouldn't have much of an impact on that kind of situation.
Har! Funny Hutchison!
I was just thinking about my posting at a BBC cricket forum, earlier this summer, where my posts were being delayed too. The moderation there, I found, is laid back....Only a visit from one of BAUT's black helicopters will work.
The notes, a few times, indicated that my posts were undergoing moderation...
And now reading your comment, reminds me that Mr Henry Blofeld would have a field day with black helicopters rising from behind the pavilion. Excellent scenario!
I can hear him now! Thanks for the nice pictures.
edit:
They use the Vauxhall end now (temporarily), to commentate.

I'm guessing if that were true we'd have more tumbleweeds than posters. Who isn't guilty of such a thing from time to time?
Would someone mind quoting the OP for me? so I don't have to scroll back to the start of the thread to see what it is about?
