I was wondering what keeps HST in it's orbit. I can't imagine that it can store enough fuel to maintain it's hight for several years. But on the other hand I think that that's the only possibility. Please let me know.

It's boosted into a higher orbit with each shuttle servicing mission. That makes up for altitude lost from drag.On 2002-04-07 12:21, MHS wrote:

That's what I thought in the first place, but I figured that there was much more drag. Thanks.
It's interesting that Hubble is one of the very few spacecraft without attitude thrusters. I think it has to do with the potential for messing up the mirror.
Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.
I'm sure it is, how do they unload the reaction wheels? On 2002-04-07 13:52, ToSeek wrote:

Oh yeah, I don't often work on S/C in a field region high enough to use them.On 2002-04-07 14:44, ToSeek wrote:

Thanks.
And, what do they do with the dew shield when they're not using it?On 2002-04-07 13:55, Karl wrote:

For that matter, where's the finder scope on that thing? On 2002-04-08 03:56, GrapesOfWrath wrote:
