It is illegal throughout the civilized world for ferrets to become farriers. In some jurisdictions, however, they may be trained and permitted to braid a horse's mane, but only if they've first learned how to knit.

Ferrets can operate ferries, as long as they have a valid boating license.

I wonder if ferrets tell jokes while they braid horses manes? Then they would be cheerful. And if they have cocktails at the same time, they will be quite cheerful indeed!

Yes, ferrets respond cheerfully to one common product of fermentation, but the horses have to share some too, otherwise they get nervous about how the braiding will look.

The BKFT forum (Bad Knitting Ferrets Today) has a Fun-n-Games thread entitled "Could cheerful astronomers be presuaded to run through tubes".

I suspect astronomers are only cheerful after
getting the grant application and by then they
have jumped through too many hoops to be
    interested.

BAUT is a government funded cheerleading, beer heaving & ferret training facility. Meerkats need not apply.

I've always enjoyed the beer heaving part, but some time ago one of the ferrets from Oz introduced me to McWilliams Merlot after I could no longer find the Black Swan variety in my local store, and I was quite pleased by that too. I wonder, who is training whom?

And here I thought it was chair heaving, beer training, and ferret leading. Thanks for the correction.

Meekrats may apply. Proudrats are definitely out, though.

    We've taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all and all for one
    We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why....

Oh, wait. You said meerkats. Well, I don't know the rest of the lyrics for that one. Sorry. Won't happen again.

Try the 1985 D.L. Roth pinot gigolo -- it has quite the nose.

The truth about ferrets is that they are by far outpopulated by squirrels, have no connections and are never invited to dinner parties. Who cares where they're buried? No one.
