SG 1 related question: wormholes and blackholes

Let's say we built a stargate much like the one in SG 1. Let's say we accidentally open a wormhole near a blackhole. Might the Earth actually get pulled in or would all of the space between the Earth and the blackhole get pulled in? I know this is based on an actual episode. Would the gate be destroyed before complete anilihation of the Earth?

Don't forget, you are talking about make-believe technology, based on make-believe physics, so how a "real" stargate would behave is wild speculation at best.

Perhaps we could rephrase the question to be more in kin with actual speculative science fiction. Let's replace stargate with a Lorentzian wormhole. We drop one end of the wormhole into a black hole. What would be the effect on the other end?

it would only work if the plot required it.
the stargates are made out of some pretty durable stuff- i think they threw one into a star and opened up a wormhole to another gate once, and the gate survived long enough to send burning hot plasma thru it to kill whatever bad guy was on the other side.
but, then again, stargates were also destroyed by aerial bombardment with weapons that can only be assumed to be less powerful than a sun or black hole and the Asgard didn't seem to think that the gate that went down in the ocean with the replicators was worth looking for, either, and the Russians found that one and put it to use.
