    Hi,

Nice image. That is what is called Lucky imaging. I think I will have to keep my AllSKy camera running all nights from now on.

    Keep them coming.

Are the Perseids on right now? I need to get out there!

Where's Perseus at the moment? I really need some planetarium software.

The Perseids are peaking on 12th of August with 90+ ZHR.You can use Stellarium,i use it its pretty handy for getting your bearings in the sky.

    Hi Neelam,

What he did was to apply a white balance on your image. With any more or less normal fsoftware you can make a white balance. Look for a part of the sky where you do not have details eg. just Sky and look for th white balance tool, click on it and yout colors will be balanced to a neutral white.

Please do not search for a white part, even if it is called white balance what you really do is to neutralize the RGB values to a grey value.

Do you have a software like Photoshop elements or maybe with your Canon you got a software package ? If yes please name it and if I have the same software I will try to explain how to balance the night sky

    Hi,

Very easy. Open Photoshop , open your image. Open the " Adjust Level" or just press the keys CTRL + L and the tool opens.

Underneath the clickable field AUTO there are 3 " Eyedropper tools ", click on the one in the middle (Midtones). Your mouse becomes the shape of an eyedropper, position the eyedropper on any part of your dark sky background (use the reddest part of your image) and click with the left mouse button there and you will see the dark Sky will turn grey ...

Play around and you will see what happens ...

    That is it ...
