    12:34:56 7/8/9

    Received in an email:

An interesting event will take place tomorrow; something that happens once and only once over the course of history.

Shortly after noon on July 8, comes the moment that can be called 12:34:56 7/8/9.

And even though it appears to be a rare occurrence, such interesting patterns aren't that unusual.

    Consider these from the past:

    01:23:45 6/7/89
    12:34.56 7/8/90
    01:02:03 04/05/06

And in a couple of years we'll have 11:11:11 11/11/11.

The above was sent to me and I thought I’d pass it along. Until now I never thought about there having been a 7:07:07 7/7/7.
Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.

That won't happen for another month, i.e. on the 7th of August.

Btw, every day only happens once over the course of history.

I'm surprised one of these hysterical end-of-the-world types or cults hasn't caught on this. OMG...It's the Final Countup!

Big deal. The same event occurred in 1909 and we lived to tell about it.

ToSeek's a Doctor Who fan. Since Sean F and Donnie B aren't here, I'll take that one.

On topic, ToSeeked ToSeek here, though I didn't post the whole email. I did complain about the claim of 7/8/9 happening only once, since there are digits missing from that. Sure, we'll be dead in 3009, but 12:34:56 7/8/3009 will probably happen.

In Europe, that is. In the US, tomorrow (today) is 7/8/9.

Who's to say we can't or won't revise the calender for a third age and start the count all over again.

Wow; I'm going to have to think through my posts a little more if they are so cryptic that even ToSeek doesn't find them.

I think we should start the year renumbering with Charles Darwin's birth year just to annoy the creationists.

The decade starting in 2080 will have four prime numbered years, 2081, 2083, 2087, and 2089. This is the most primes that can occur in the same decade. It won't happen again until the 33rd century when 3251, 3253, 3257, and 3259 are primes. Mark your calendars and start thinking of reasons why this will end the world.

I wouldn't be surprised in a few of us had that interest.

I adore Jewel Staite, but here's my one true love....

On topic: Apologies for not spotting the prior mentions. It was getting late, and I didn't look terribly hard.

Next time, offer ToSeek a picture of Katee Sackhoff.
