    Messier 55

Took this a while back before the permanent clouds settled over my house. 20 x 120 sec iso 1600, 11" SCT F/6.3, Rebel Mod, guided with ED80, PHD and Starshoot 1. Mount was Atlas EQ-G. Acquired and processed with Nebulosity. Resized, cropped, levels with Elements 5.

    Nice.

Visually this has long been one of my favorites (after M5). But now that I'm at 47N it is too far south for me to see clearly. It's one candidate for being the core of a dwarf galaxy mostly digested by the Milky Way.

    Thanks Rick

It is a sleeper, and I got lucky it was a clear night even low on the horizon when I took this. Now can we move tha M83 north so we can get a picture of it? I'm looking forward to trying longer exposures of M16, M17 and M20 provided 3 things happen.
    1. It stops raining, and the fog stays away
    2. I can stay up past 12 midnight.
    3. We dont have a full moon when #1 ans #2 happen
Clear skies to you, perhaps a break Sunday night
I totally enjoy your fabulous images, thanks for the kind words.
