Identification Request

I was staring up at the night sky and this thing kept catching my eye. It seems to take the same course every night for the past week.



The object in question is the bright star in the lower right corner. It appears as a bright yellowish star in the South Eastern sky. This photo was taken around 3:50 am in Southern Illinois.

I'm sure it's a trivial everyday thing for most of you, but I'm having a hard time of distinguishing what exactly it is. Being that it's so bright I assume it must have a proper name.

Yep; most planets do.

As I suspected... sorry for coming off as ignorant. I didn't want to rule anything out by saying it was a planet, but I had the feeling it was either Saturn or Jupiter because of the color. Thanks again for the help though.

No sorry needed. Sometimes it's how to search or the where to go that gets ellusive.
I give you credit for recognizing that it was trivial, and not some shocking new object in the sky.
But; that doesn't stop me from having a bit of fun with the answer.
