BA recently posted a "debunk" to the thread, pointing out a few facts about tides/human effects. Naturally there will now be an outpouring of bile and filth for his contribution.

And it appears that the readers chose to ignore the BA's post, asking instead what the implictions of this "event" were for their own astological signs. Oh well.....

The only real worry I have about the solar eclipse is that certain groups, like the al qaida, might try and use it as a "sign" and time major attacks based on it. This Ramadan had a lunar, and will have a solar eclipse, which is supposed to be a sign that a great leader will arise in the muslim world.

I don't think the masterminds of Al-Qaida are too concerned with furthering Islam, and therefore aren't looking for works of Allah to spur them on. The footsoldiers of the group may be, but I think the ringleaders are more interested in setting up an "Islamist" state with themselves at the head so that they an satisfy their own thirst for power.

True, but if the al Qaida can make it appear that bin Laden is the great leader that is supposed to arise, he may gain power and support from people who wouldn't have supported him before.

    "New Moon" solar eclipse?

Let me guess, the "Full Moon" solar eclipse occurs only at night.

Does this... fellow have any idea what causes the phases of the moon?
