Buttercup, that's a good way to have your garbage cans end up in the next county over.

Beautiful day today. Clear and sunny, if somewhat cool. White caps on the bay.

Partly cloudy but mostly sunny. Cool; high will probably be 57 F. That's contrasted to day before last, when our high was 81 F. Calm. Thankfully yesterday's winds didn't carry over into today.

Old Man Winter (what of him we get around here) is reclaiming his rights today. Now mostly overcast, thick medium-gray clouds (which pushed in within the hour it seems). Downright cool, probably 48 F. Rain possible?? At least it's NOT windy.

60°F, blowing 30 at times. Just lost a large elm limb across my electric service. Ripped it down the house. Still got power and ISP and phones. Ha!! Fix things in the AM. No worries.

Good point. Gorgeous moon picture on the BA's blog today, by the way!

A very comfortable 59F yesterday, and another clear night. I went ahead and got my scope out and got great views of Venus, Jupiter and Mars last night in spite of the nearly full moon. Mars looked especially good, it was well positioned in the sky about 10 - 11pm. I could pick out some detail in the Martain disk as well as a hint of an ice cap. Usually Mars is just an orange disk without any detail visible; though the ice cap is usually visible as well.

Surprise: Snowflakes tonight. Forecast for 2 to 3 inches in upper mountains. Temp should dip into the high 20s, and tonight's snow will be tomorrow's rain. Currently (7:40 p.m. CST) partly cloudy. Sun has set. Temp falling quickly. We'll be sleeping while it's snowing; forecast to begin after midnight.

We got a light dusting of snow overnight, as predicted. Current (7:45 a.m. CST) temp is probably a chilly 31 F. Mostly overcast.

Fell asleep with my bedroom window wide open last night. Three pints of ale before bed will do that.

When I woke up this morning the air temp in my bedroom was 41F. My refrigerator is 44F.

I really wanted to stay under the covers but, well, couldn't.

Three pints of ale before bed and all...

Overcast. Cool temp (10:15 a.m. CST) of 41 F. Dusting of snow already gone. Forecast for continued cloudiness with good chance of rain. Calm, no breeze. Nice change of pace, enjoying the quiet.

Lots of weather folks doing a lot of hand waving on the news last night in anticipation of a significant storm coming in last night into this morning. Forecasts of 60+ mph gusts on the coast and north of us. 40 mph gusts forecasted locally for the Seattle area. Wind advisories through 1pm today.

Which of course means when I looked out the window this am it was dry, quiet, and overcast. A bit cold though. Might've been more interesting weather in Treb's area.

Indeed. I'm in the alternate area (Port Townsend) at present. Snowed like crazy this morning from about 7:00 to 9:00. Didn't stick, just a little too warm, but more than enough to put me off any plans to do yard work. It had been very windy overnight. Of course, we're sitting on a hill looking over the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I drew a line in Google Earth one time and discovered that the next land, other than the very low Dungeness Spit, is Taiwan.

We're getting a new heating system tomorrow. I sure hope it's not too cold for the 4-6 hours it's off!

Things getting a bit more interesting tonight, as it's snowing big fat fluffy flakes. Sticking in the yard, but temps aren't expected to get below the mid 30's, so roads are just wet. Hang in there Treb! Time for a sweater before the new heating system is up n' running...

We've got some sleet frozen on the deck and railings. (Unless you're a native, in which case it's "hail".) So it's not warm. And the first of the furnace guys is here, heat is off.

An inch of snow here. Seems to be at a dynamic steady state, melting as fast as it accumulates.

Warm, sunny, beautiful! Temp is 75 F. Calm. Fortunately a software snafu means I can enjoy this sans work (in my home)!

Likewise in my area. Looks like it snowed all night, and snowing heavily this morning but the accumulation in my yard and on the deck remains about 1/2". Probably not a good time to drive over the pass(es) - Snoqualmie, Stevens, White, etc.

Sunny and at least somewhat warm today. Heavy rain yesterday. Snow the day before. Can you say "unsettled", boys and girls? I knew you could!

And...snow predicted for the higher elevations tomorrow! My mother would have associated this with the equinoxious storms.
