    Sunny and windy!

We're forecast for gusts up to 50 mph. I believe it.

    Temp probably 70 F.

You could feel winter in the air last night - dropped down to 15 C ( 60 F ) - not forecast to go that low again for the next week or so... Still one month to go before the "official" start of Aussie winter... I'm going to have to get the doona and the heater out...

You do get much more extreme weather than we do on the right coast - We don't seem to get as hot or as cold here - one reason the place is called Goldilocks land - never too hot - never too cold.

Yesterday, it was sunny, and 75F. Today, I woke up to discover that it was snowing, and the high was in the upper 40s.

The local paper predicted for last night: mostly clear.
Fact last night: Thickly overcast and permanent light rain.

Deeply gray sky with indications of rain shortly after dawn and until 2 hours post-dawn.

Now the clouds are thinning/parting a bit. Could clear up mostly or entirely...or two hours from now be totally overcast again. Days like these can be very unpredictable.

Otherwise our temp is a cool but nice 60 F.

    @Buttercup: What a nice view
But the temperatures in the Florida Keys are high in the 80s.
    Very humid, though.

    Hi Dgennero.

Today we're mostly sunny with dots and bars of fluffy clouds. Temp is a wonderful 65 F. Very faint stirring of breeze.

Looks like the thunderstorms are finally moving off for a bit. Why does this weather have to happen on the weekends? It would be so nice if storms happened during the work week and not on the weekend when I want to run around.

Edit: Zeus knows that I made this post. I'm hearing the distant rumble of thunder.

There was a huge halo around the sun when I was driving home yesterday. It was really bright too.
And here I thought spring had finally arrived.

The snow melts as soon as it hits the ground, sounds like spring to me!

(Actually, it's a week or so since we had any snow at all here. It's overcast and chilly-ish, but no percipitation right now.)

Tonight a cruel trick was played on me.

The weather is fine here is Perth, clear skies on an autumn night - lovely!

The cruel part is this - on my way home from work I was listening to the Dark Skies episode of Astronomy Cast. They were talking about all the light pollution causing grief for looking at the stars, making out the Milky Way and, for the southern hemisphere, the Magellanic Clouds.

My phone rings - it's the housemate. "The power is out!" I could here the angst in her voice because she wanted to play around on the net after a hard day of work.

Perfect, I thought, while mumbling out, "Oh, too bad eh?" Things are falling right into place!

Ten minutes later I get home and the power is back on. Oh, cruel fate! Why do you do this?

Yesterday morning, unbelievably, there was frost on car windows and the rooves of homes! :-o

That never happens here, on the 3rd of May! I wouldn't expect to see it on April 3.

Today is absolutely sunny and pleasant: Probably 75 F.

It's awful cold today - 19 degrees C. There has been or still is a fairly substantial bushfire just near the office which has placed us close to the middle of a massive haze of smoke. It's quite dark and eery - it looks like an English summer.

The plus to all this is that with such thick smoke the sun is filtered just enough to get a magnificent view of it without any discomfort. What a beautiful big ball of joy!

The spring winds are in full force now. In the evenings from 5 pm onwards, we have been getting steady 25 mile per hour westerly winds that last most of the night.

We just had hail and there is no severe weather warnings. Just a mild thunderstorm with steady rain and lightning. No wind.

Cold night here last night - down to 16 C. You can smell winter coming. June 1st is the "official" first day of winter in Queensland.

Cold spring this year. Got down to 42F (5.5C) last night and only cleared 50F (10) an hour after sunrise.

(The record temp for this day was 100F (38C))

Atrav, I'm at 37.5 degrees North, on the coast. Whereabouts are you? And are you inland?

Hey BigDon, I live in the "other" bay area... I'm at 27.5 S, 153.05E - Pretty close to the beach, and right near the river.

Has been a few cold days in a row now, getting below 15C most nights. Yeah, winter is coming (in 2007 it actually hit 1 C in the middle of a winter night - the locals still talk about the great "almost" freeze.)

For all of you Californians reading this, yes, that is rain falling from the sky today. I know this is supposed to be pre-fire season, but it is raining. Enjoy it while you can.

Tornado! One storm cell is skirting by to the south, while the tornadic cell looks like it'll pass to the north.

Oh, the hail has started. I'm off.

EDIT: It's passed. No reported touchdowns, thankfully. Now it's sunny, for the first time today.
