Another beautiful spring day here in the Pacific NW! Sunny and 60F. About time; we had hail, sleet, rain, and wind last week.

44 deg F, partly cloudy, with a gentle breeze.

It's nice to see above freezing temps at night, particularly since the last few months have had nighttime temps in the teens.

Ah..... 67° with a light breeze and clear skies. Good weather to work on my Daughter's house. Even better weather to work on my boat.

    Not floating, but in freefall.
Muttering something about the comic being late again. But they'll have to wait until I get off work...

My colleague went home early to work on his boat. He says there's snow predicted for the weekend. Noooooo!

Where on Earth are you Jokergirl? I can't believe there are places due for snow on such a fine day....

And by the way - any excuse to work on a boat - Is a Good Excuse...

Overcast and gray, some light rain earlier today, air craft grounded due to volcanic ash clouds.

The pollen situation in the American SE is downright ridiculous this year.

70 F, moderate humidity, and light winds--a beautiful morning after a solid week of dreary overcast and heavy rain.

It is wet and cold in paradise today... Temps are a frigid 20 C (68 F) and it is just drizzling down - a typical Autumn day.

A perfect spring day. Cool and dry and sunny. A very odd day for Houston.

Paradise is back to being paradise again today. A brilliant sunny autumn day, with temps back up to a warm 26 C, and forecasts of 28 C for the next 7 days.

And a Long weekend here in Oz. It is ANZAC day on Sunday (commemorates the day the Australian New Zealand Army Corps went to help out in WW I)

Sweden, which is getting perfect April weather right now.

Sun today. Snowstorm yesterday. Freezing rain the day before.
And I swear when I drove home on Monday I crossed all three of those weather zones... twice. On a 20 minute drive.

That is how the last 7 days over here has been like too, the weather has been variable... This morning there was some snow outside, but that will probably melt now that the sun is out.

I was hit by hail* as I biked home from the library today. Earlier today it's been switching between sunny without rain, sunny with rain, overcast with rain, and overcast without rain.

    * Well, perhaps not technically hail, as Wiktionary defines that as "Balls or pieces of ice falling as precipitation from a thunderstorm", but I don't know an English word for balls or pieces of ice falling as precipitation not from a thunderstorm. It was, in fact, sunny with partial cloud cover as they fell.

In my native language, there actually is a word for the sort of hail that looks more like sugar grains (those you would find on a cinnamon roll, for example) and is something between snow and hail. Is there in English? (Or, for that matter, in Swedish? I couldn't get an answer when I asked last)

Did you have sunny with snow? We did.

I think we've missed that combination. No doubt the weather gods will swiftly rectify the omission! We've got some snow during the week however.

I can't think of a Swedish word for sugary hail. What's your native language, just out of curiosity?

Forecast for paradise: Sun with a scattering of locusts, followed by overcast by a dense cloud of locusts.

Sky absolutely full of contrails here this morning - contrast with last Saturday (when all flights were grounded) couldn't be greater, given general synops are much the same (high pressure, slight breeze, no natural clouds). Still expecting to see close to 20c in my garden this afternoon, though under proper exposure more likely around 18c

Graupel, or snow grains (depending on size - grauple is soft hail, a bit like styrofoam balls, snow grains are much smaller and more like sugar granules and probably what you're refering to )

Springtime in the Rockies, which means temps ranging from 25 to 70, with mixed snow, sleet, hail, rain, and sun.

Rain has finally come in force, bringing thunderstorms and tornadoes with it. I used to like spring, but that was before I moved someplace where there are tornado warnings every other weekend.

Windy and cool today, cleaned up a lot of junk in an unauthorized dumping area today, followed by perfect hot-tub weather of 20 kts and 31 deg.

Glad I can hold my breath for a while...

We had another heavy rain in Sacramento today. That's very unusual for this time of year. I suppose I shouldn't complain - we've had years of drought and can use the rain - but I'm sick of it. This time of year it should be nice, warm, springtime weather. Instead we're probably just going to move right into hot summer weather without any real spring.

Reached 21.5c yesterday - warmest day of the year so far and likely to be the warmest for some time as the first half of May is looking distinctly cool for Britain! Less than a third of the usual monthly rainfall here so far, but looks like some proper rain arriving today: early brightest rapidly fading as cirrostratus fills the sky (and for once it's not all manmade!)

Yesterday I did a fair amount of gardening, including the ever popular chore of stump removal.

Fell asleep fairly early in the evening in a "very casual" state of dress, on top of the covers, with the bedroom window open.

When I woke up at 3 AM it was 48F (9C) and a steady 24 mph (39kph) wind was blowing through the window. And apparently for some time, as I had one of those truely awesome bouts of shivering going. The kind you usually have to go snow camping to achieve.

After I got the window shut I stumbled like a tranq'ed buffalo through the over crowded natural history museum that's my bedroom. I stubbed my toe on a big dinosaur upper humerus I have yet to get identified. My laundry kind of spilled over on it. Looks exactly like a giant chicken humerus, and has what look like theropod tooth marks. Those thin-wide-thin type cuts in the bone.
