Question Question about Bow Shock Wave and future Super Nova ?

Does the Bow Shock Wave produced by Betelgeuse have any bearing or possible mechanistic importance with the upcoming (?) supernova (when ? ... who knows...) ? More to the point... have there been any pertinent models given with how a super-red-giant such as Betelgeuse will vary its effect on the Bow Shock Wave and its eventual demise?
