Friday, I didn't remember that today is Memorial Day, here. I've hung my flag on its pole, outside my house, over the front yard.
Thanks for serving, to all you other veterans, on this forum.
Well, to the OP.
I don't like political correctness, and I personally think it's dangerous. By this, I mean look what happened to previous politically correct nations: the Third Reich and Soviet Union were very politically correct. They had political officers within their field military units, on land and at sea. Their factories and schools had political officers, to make sure workers and students were politcally correct. I guess their concentration camps and goulags, I'm sure, also had political officers. The Third Reich was bombed into oblivion and Solidarity, Pope John Paul II and President Reagan bankrupted the USSR.
(Reminds me of the old Englsih saying: "In war time, you bomb your enemy; in peace time, you bankrupt him") And, so we did. If you want to call the Cold War, peacetime.
Anyway, these recent years in America, I have become aware of a required political correctness, here. This alarms me. How dare US of A institute a perfidious practice like political correctness. How did it get here, from bombed Nazis and bankrupted Soviets? It doesn't belong here. How do we send it back?
Do ya'll in the EU and UK have a dose of this poison, too?
OK, that's the OP.
