    The Observable Universe, from Top to Bottom

    It's only somewhat astronomy related, but it's not quite just babbling. I just really liked today's xkcd comic, and thought I'd share.

    It would make a great classroom poster.
    It may be cartoonish, but the visualizations about the scales and relative distances help.
    And the sci-fi stuff? Hey, why not? It helps show how far out sci-fi really is.

    A bunch of us are really curious whether Randall knew about the "Map of the Universe" paper (Gott et al., 2005). If so, he doesn't credit it. He's done other similar maps logarithmic maps before, but this one is really similar... Though he does plot the location of Ford Prefect, and Gott et al. didn't.
