    stranded

    anyone see the movie "stranded"

    its relatively new.....low budget.

Plot. First manned mission to mars goes aflail. Humans get stranded. Pretty good movie, overall. Slow, boring acting. But the 'intensity' level of the movie keeps you curious. They roll the martian conspiracies into one. A past mars civilization. The special effects a good.

It was a better movie then "Mission to Mars"

Kinda neat how they rolled the "cydonia/ mars cities" theories into a movie.

Surely someone has seen it besides me lol. Or is my life that dull ???????

I've noticed it at the local video store, but haven't picked it up yet. So you're saying it's worth renting?

If it's slow and boring, how can the intensity level keep you going?

Also, the only known movie that is worse than Mission to Mars is Thin Red Line, which makes MtM look like a nonstop roller coaster ride.

Armageddon wasn't all the great, but at least it was watchable, if for nothing else than to make fun of.

Thin Red Line had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. In fact, it had over 3 hours of no redeeming qualities.

I tend to avoid war movies, since so few of them are dome corectly. I avoided Thin Red Line because I thought there was something almost sacreligious about Jeff Spicoli playing the role of a soldier. Throw in the drug addled Nick Nolte as the stereotypical heartless officer, drag it out for three hours, and you have a sure looser.

I will have to check out Stranded. It sounds like better than average Sci Fi.

I just watched it last night. It's an interesting movie, nothing spectacular to view, but it includes a theory that there was a real civilization on Mars way before first man ever landed on Mars.

I wonder if this theory is at all true? What if Mars did indeed experience life bursting activity way before Earth came into being? Of course, many scientists, excluding SETI folks, don't believe in UFOs and aliens.

The movie's worth watching and it's different from Mission to Mars in many ways. Gotta dig those aliens in Stranded. :P

    Imdb.com listing for Stranded

Lackluster (Blockbuster) video carries the film in DVD and VHS.

Argh! Don't remind me of that video! I watched it last week, and their constant screaming got to my ears...even at volume five (bars) it was still loud.

What about Supernova then? Anyone else hate that movie, or is it just me? I hated it because of its dumb plot, which was very indescernable (?). Briefly, they are supposed to save some race on another planet, but ended up with some evil guy. #-o Grrr...

Yes it was very slow. If it is the movie I am thinking of. Everyone kept running out of air until they got to the alien ruins and started wandering around the hallways.

and OOPS ...THAT... hallway doesnt have air in it so someone else dies.

I did like a couple of scenes though. Particularly when the brainiac scientist alone with the "HAWT" woman on the space pod pretty much drops his high and mighty act and really just wants to sleep with her before they die.

    Her response is priceless. =D>

Nice trick NZborngal. . . Bring up a year old thread exactly 1 year later! I'm reading along, then suddenly notice a post for Sept. 29.

HUH??? I says to myself. . . then notice the year. :-?

In NZborngal's defense, the thread was only about two months' dormant when he posted, not a year.

And don't you guys use the "new posts since my last visit" icon so you just jump right to anything new?

    Sorry, NZborngal!

Oh, wait - it was just a typo, I accidentally left off the "s," is all.

    Yeah, that's the ticket.
