    A deer with one horn!

    hi ya!

checkout this deer with one horn!!I think it is a genetic anomaly and not a species.

    it's at: www.news.com.au

the feature is: 'unicorn' born in captivity ,June 12 2008

and no I don't think that unicorns exist in a mythical context but Narwhals with one horn do exist and they are a species.

Except that "horn" is a tusk, a tooth.

    Wikipedia: Narwhal

The most conspicuous characteristic of male narwhal is their single, extraordinarily long tusk. It is an incisor tooth that projects from the left side of the upper jaw and forms a left-handed helix.

The original link caused me to wonder if the Weekly World News had been reincarnated in Australia.

And of course, deer don't have "horns". They have antlers, which are quite different.

I doubt it, since it's twin has two.
More likely, a root cell got moved during gestation.

Trebuchet beat me to it, darn it! The story is confusing in that deer are not born with antlers (mama wouldn't like that).
