    Expanding Space and Quantum events

I read somewhere that space is not a blank slate. There are constant quantum level events occuring. Particles pop in and out of existence, etc.

If space is expanding, does that mean that there are more of these quantum level events. Or is the the same number, but farther apart?

    Hi M Taylor,

I'm not so good on that whole virtual particle/dark energy kick, and I've already been in trouble today with my good friend Chris Hillman, for a link that wasn't so hot...

    long story

... but anyway, I'm happy to recommend this link for your perusal.

And I'm having a scout around for something on virtual particle pairs.

    Steve

Here's a couple of links I'm gonna go back to. This one is a bit political, but I like that it's quotes from various scientists, if I was a real sceptic it wouldn't be hard to check out the veracity of the quotes. Might give you plenty of leads for futher reading. I'm sure my friend Chris would like this one.

    Walkin' on eggshells Steve?

I am picturing Chris Hillman walking in here and Stickying a post it to your forehead any minute now...

Yes it's true. We see a smooth continuous frame from our point of reference, but on a quantum and relativistic map, events are flickering in and out of existence [probably] at Planck Time of 5.3x10^-44. I am not very clued up on the theory, but i think Frank J. Tipler proposed the theory.

Even since a physics prof in college told us about this phenomena I've always wondered if the Big Bang didn't actually happen, it's just that more particles pop into space than out...
