Red face where is the de-cloaking button?

I'm just wondering if any of you guys and gals have the same problem as me?
I get into my car and as soon as I leave my street I seem to be invisible to the rest of the world, cars, trucks, buses and vans pull out infront of me causing almost near misses, when I'm waiting at a junction and see a car coming they don't indicate their intentions until they are either right at the junction or when they are turning the wheel into the junction. This doesn't happen all of the time, so I'm wondering if I'm activating a cloaking device by accident or a gremlin is in my bonnet (hood) doing it on purpose.
If it is a cloaking button I have activated, I want to know where the button is to de-activate it --->checked the manual for it<--- and nothing!!!!!!!

The decloaking button is usually on the steering wheel, identified with a little "horn" icon. Sometimes you have to "lean" on it to get it to work.

If that doesn't work, the backup decloakers are located on your right and left hands, one to each, right in the middle. Very silent, but usually quite effective.

i have used it and they jump and look around to see where the noise has come from then carry right on, as for the middle two indexs they can't see it because of the cloaking device.
Oh by the way, congratulations on your 14,000 post Mak.

I forgot to mention the backups described are in fact the tertiary ones. One must precede their use with the secondary decloaker located between one's nose and chin. Use of this device requires the appropriate window to be rolled down.

MMMMM I seem to have the same kind of problem in my car its small, but YELLOW! and I call it the sweetcorn but I may as well be on a piece of sweetcorn as no one seems to see me! I have hunted all over the car for the same kind of button for the invisible cloak to go away, but as yet I havent found one!!! unless some one has poured vanishing cream over the car!
But there could be another factor, could it be the female hormone that triggers the invisability cloak????
    I wonder.

I think it must be cloaked when the device is activated!

You might want to try one of the following:

    1. Paint your car to look similar to a police vehicle. I'll bet they see you then.
    2. Replace your dinky car horn with a truck air horn. That'll get their attention.
    3. Make sure you aren't driving in people's blind spots.
    4. Drive as if you are invisible. Assume no one can see you. It's safer than assuming they do see you.

    LOL!

Yeah, I guess it would depend on one's locale, etc.

From my point of view, it's funny that you should post this thread today of all days.

At 11.20 this morning, in broad daylight, I was driving along a main road. On a side road ahead of me to my left (bear in mind this is the UK where we drive on the left) I saw a van approaching the junction with no sign of stopping. Thinking he was going to stop with his front across the junction, I swerved a little to the right to avoid him, but no, he had no intention of stopping at all.

He failed to give way at all, and despite braking I crashed into him.

He pulled over, and when we got out of our vehicles, he said he hadn't seen me. Oh well, at least he admitted he was in the wrong.

Great way to celebrate one's 45th birthday. Not.

I had that done to me by white van man , he went straight up the back end of my scoobie a few years ago, while I was giving way to a car, the funny thing was he was behind me all the way down the road and then wham, he said he didn't see me! you must have a cloaking device too!
    Happy birthday Paul.

See? we all knew you were a male chauvinist. Heh, you like girls that look to you for protection? No you like dolls. Actually, all joking aside, that works to get you out of a ticket, but the cloaking device makes you completely invisible, including the skimpy clothes and makeup.

Minivan's, at night, I think must resemble police cars because I can't say how many times I get behind someone who is cruising along, then all of a sudden, slow down to 5 mph below the speed limit. Drive an F350 dueli, see how many people cut you off then and you are certainly not invisible. Just don't drive too much, lest you feel like refinancing your house for the gas

Thanks, Maksutov and chrissy! On the whole it was pretty good, and let's face it, a car crash that only damages the vehicles is not significant in the scheme of things.

On a much happier note I got a birthday card from my wonderful next door neighbour Emma. It begins, "YOU ARE MAD"

It then shows a picture of a silly hat with the caption, "Your Special Hat of Madness".

This is followed by, "Dear Person, You are MAD. But I mean that in a nice way. i.e. You are NICE mad, not SCARY mad. SCARY mad would not be good. Oh god, please don't go SCARY MAD"

I called round to thank her for such a cheerful card. While at her front door, I mentioned my car crash. Reflexively, she glanced over to where I usually park it, but she did not see it. This was of course because it is at the repair centre.

Or is it because I'd left the cloaking button on? How mysterious...

    Around here that doesn't work.

At first, I thought There is such a Cloak Button.
    Well.. but its funny ..

I agree with Larry Jacks suggestion.
    1. Paint your car to look similar to a police vehicle. I'll bet they see you then.
Not only that , Neon Pink is Cool !
    2. Replace your dinky car horn with a truck air horn. That'll get their attention.

Police cars in the Philippines are Neon Pink?

    Must be a locational thing.

Over here, neon pink fails to inspire fear in the criminally minded.

I didn't meant Police cars here are in Neon Pink !
I just suggest that Neon colors can make very visible.

What makes you think this behaviour is limited to you? It's everyday driving in the city.

I think the answer is that you need to drive with confidence. Drive with the mindset of a man. A six inch near miss is as good as a mile. A foot gap between cars is a big enough opening for you to get in there.

Is that where vanishing cream comes from?

I will wear pink and a blond wig and skimpy clothes if Neverfly is strapped to the front of my car to protect me! Then we will see how many cars pull out infront of me!!!!
I have driven Army truckswith trailors on and all lights ablaze and had cars like minis take me on at roundabouts, and nearly crushed them. Only for the driver to scream "where did you come from!!! I never saw you!!!" Hmmm I just said "Isnt the dam truck is big enough, you want to try looking! but go home and try reading the highway code first!! then get your eyes tested! could be another invisibility cloaking switch fault!

I ride my bike agressively like men do, with confidence lights on, a loud exhaust and its a 900 Fireblade! so its not a small bike but this doesnt stop the I didnt see you drivers pulling out. To which I have a load of very clear signal to give them! with my hands! which strangely enought they can see!!! The worst is the car magnet I have in the rear of my bike! Last July I stopped a traffic lights as they turned to red and to the right of me were 3 policemen arresting a guy, I saw the bubble head 300yards behind driveing along watching the police. I thought nothing of it looked up to the lights to see if they were changeing and wham! I must have switched that cloacking button on some how as she didnt see me!!!!!!

I can take on a Mack Truck.

Most the time, when I go somewhere, I don't even bother driving. Fuel costs too much.

I just run on the freeway and growl at the slow people.
