Is there a possibility of being unbanned? I actually enjoyed reading AgoraBasta's posts (for example) and can definately see why he got banned (although his 2 posts were seconds apart), but he seemed to be very active on these forums and contributed much more than I ever could. Would an apology do anything or are all bans for life? Just curious, that's all.

I have been as good as banned, because for some reason or another I have been unable to log on. Perhaps it is my computer stupidity, or something or other.
Anyway, with the help of Bad Astronomer, et al., I have finally found a way. I think that I misread the FAQ (or read it too hastily).
I tend to spend much more time reading the posts of others, rather than in writing myself. There are a lot of GOOD writers here on Bad Astronomy (and some real dummies, too), so it is a lot of fun to read rather than to write. Perhaps it is laziness. Actually, I must have misread the FAX or have been too impatient to read it carefully. I finally guessed what I needed to do, and it worked. So, as the saying goes, IF AT FIRST (OR SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH, ETC.) YOU DON'T SUCCEED, TRY, TRY, TRY AGAIN!
Therefore, when you do not see anything I have written, I am either unable to get on line, or I am reading the stuff the rest of you write (usually on the regular threads where astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology are discussed). Somebody needs to read it, for crying out loud. So many of the posts are written from real knowledge that it is very difficult to write anything to equal it. This is one of the best Bulletin Boards on the WEB. Actually, I, myself, know of none better than Bad Astronomy when it comes to scientific bulletin boards!
