I wish I had enough budget for research that won't be needed for at least 20 years. I believe they are "putting the cart before the horse".
Did the Wright brothers expend time, effort, and money on bathrooms?
Do they sense a threat from the private sector?

my thoughts. sorry bout no comment earlier, i was trying to hurry out. i'm here now though.

we know we can grow plants and such in low and even no gravity. would the purpose of this then be to just practice maintaining a base? or to practice being isolated for long periods of time?

the bit about the dust won't work unless we have a sample of Mars dirt to work with from the location of the site. Earth dirt and Mars dirt may be similar, but could react to cleaning methods as diversely as fine dust or thick clay.

i'm not sure what real purpose thi will accomplish...we already did one or two biosphere things when i was in elementary school. we know it can be done. :-? anyway, i'll stop ranting now and let others put ideas down.

(and try not to post and run again  )

no need. we all need a good laugh sometimes.

    speaking of which:

wait. didn't we already do that? all they'd have to do is show Capricorn One or whatever it's called, flipped 180^.

    oh well. *laughs again...
