I bought Transformers the movie on DVD the other day, after having not seen it for quite a while. ^_^ I've noticed quite a few astronomy and physics mistakes.
Here are a few that stand out.
In one scene early on, the Decepticons are flying on astrotrain back to Cybertron, Astrotrain says they need to lose some weight or they won't have enough fuel to make it back to cybertron. So they decide to dump a few horribly damaged decepticons. When they open the side door and toss them the deceptiocons don't fly off until theyre out the door, and in one scene, Starscream stands in the doorway but doesn't get sucked out into space into the vacuum. Someone tried to point out that perhaps astrotrain had no air inside of it/him, but the decepticons were talking and making all sorts of nouise, clearly indicating some kind of atmosphere.
Ultramagnus and the autoibots set down on the planet of Junk, which appears to be the ruined half of a planet that was once whole,, but for some reason fell apart.
A number of planets, well, actually, earth seems to be the ONLY planet not artifically made of metal and the like, all the other planets seem either artifically constructed or adapted/assimilated form regular organic worlds. I would imagine that a planet thats totally emtal anda ritifical all the way through would possibly present some problem.
It also seemes there are a good number of extrasolar planets, as none of the planets seem to have a visisble star they orbit.
Unicron, the main willian, is a giant transforming planet that physicially consumers entire worlds, not just destroys them, but sucks them up. Something tells me thats on some side of the impossible. ^.~
The dinobots manage to use flamethrowers in space, we're alsop treated to other forms of combustion in the battle with unicron.
I probably don't even need to mention it, but of course there is sound in space in Transformers the movie.
this is not to say that I don't like transformers the movie, I still consider it one of the best movies ever, animated or otherwise, but I also have fun pointing out these sorts of things. ^.~
