Exclamation Global Warming, a global warning

Hello again, I would like to tell you about global warming. It is a very bad thing! Most people get confused about the way it works. This a warning to everybody, GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT A LIE!!!!! You must not fall for the real lies by president evil liar man! Okay so, global warming is caused when light from the sun goes thru the atmosphere and bouces of the ground back to the sky. Some of the light goes back into space, but because of economic reasons such as, oil, coal, plastic, gold, and money are the only things that people care about most of the light is trapped. Well, that light builds up heat which feeds tropical storms which makes tragic stuff happen! If you would like to reply to this than feel more than free to do so!Tell me what you think! Any questions?

Oh lord I hope this is a troll because I laughed hard reading it.
One of my questions is "Do you have enough emoticons in your post?"
The other question is "Do you understand that water vapor is a greenhouse gas?" Was re: plenty of more water on Earth than oil.

Hello jybryce. I appreciate your concern. I'm not sure who president evil liar man is, (although I do have my suspicions) however the rules on this forum are that we have to avoid politics and ad hominens.

Talking You are right, but still I have something to prove you wrong!

It's true, Phaishazamkn, that there is great deal more water than oil, yet when we use oil we put it into the atmosphere which then traps heat because the pollutants mix the water vapor. It is also a theory that when the heat builds up it feeds tropical storms. Yes you are correct about more water than oil, but still oil and coal cause some global warming. Any more questions?

    Red face Rules?

Okay Ronald Brak, I will keep that rule in mind, but global warming and politics come hand in hand. Oh yeah, and president evil liar man is George Bush.

I think it's kinda dangerous to blame it on people that care only about money. It hides the real villans. You're to blame, I'm to blame, everyone on this forum is to blame since we are using electricity to post here. The big greedy oil companies wouldn't produce oil at all if people like me weren't causing a demand for it.

I see so much wasted electricity. In my school, where the professors often speak of the evils of global warming, we burn about 3000 watts of light in a typical classroom in the middle of the day. A typical classroom is about 8 times the size of my kitchen, and my kitchen is "classroom bright" using a single 23W CFB. I see 10s of thousands of watts of lights illuminating the hallways of the campus' buildings that are closed at night. Perhaps this is for security reasons, but I imagine they could get by with only 10% of that.

A quick walk through my friend's condo complex reveals hallways lined with incandescent bulbs, burning 24/7. It's about 1000 watts per hallway x 6 hallways burning continuously. Why??? Even if you don't care about CO2 emissions, don't you want to see your electric bill drop by 2/3rds?

And these are just 2 examples of many. So before pointing the finger at our favorite list of villans... corporations, profit, greed... we all need to recognize ourselves as the villans, and ask what simple things we can do.

Its an issue most people talk about but very few actually bother to change their ways to help their share of carbon emissions.

    Question True

Yes tony, we do waste electricity by sitting at our computers all the time and using lightbulbs 24/7 but light does not give of carbon emmisions, and radiation guy, I don't get that Albert Einstien thing.

Jbryce - Please take the time to visit the AboutBAUT forum, and become familiar with the rules for posting to this forum. We have political, as well as civility and decorum rules that are unlike most forums. We have dedicated threads to the science of Global Warming. Please feel free to participate in these, but refrain from creating new ones. There is also a thread in AboutBAUT about politics and GW. Also, please keep in mind that the average BAUTer is rather intelligent, and is already aware of something called "Global Warming", and the depth behind it Please consider this an Official Warning.

I disagree, sir, and take offence. BAUT is hardly failing. I am, like others, often online in the wee hours, and we have moderators from around the globe, some of whom are temporarily away, but will soon resume their normal prowling hours. Also, we catch and deal with MUCH, MUCH more than you EVER see ;-) We are also entirely volunteer, our only pay being the satisfaction of helping our beloved home on the 'net run smoothly for it's users. We spend ALOT of time, all volunteer, in the background, doing things the average BAUTer never sees, to make damn sure your experience is a good one. We catch multitudes of bad posts and threads before forum members ever view them. When you DO, you may consider it a rarity, the VERY odd one we don't catch first

Due to the nature of the thread, thread closed. JBryce, DO refrain from starting a similar thread.

post edit by antoniseb: Serenitude is a little softer on new members than I am normally. I recommend that you take his advice when you come back. I'm shortening your suspension to one day.
