Which is also how you use a parachute!

I avoid it in polite company!

In the worst case, you can always say "the planet that shall not be named," or just claim to have forgotten the name of the planet between Saturn and Neptune.

Luckily I'm not a schoolteacher so I can get away with it.

And even more luckily, I live in Japan where it's called "Ten'osei", so I don't even have to worry about it much.
    As above, so below

I must admit though , I NEVER tire of Uranus jokes , I can't help it , that name just cracks me up , especially when there is news about the Rings of Uranus , I'm laughing even now!

All that aside , I find the planet fascinating and really wish It got more attention than it does.
I'd like to see a Cassini syle probe explore the system , we can call it 'Herschel'!
I'm sure we could discover many , many amazing secrets of the solar system with further study of this bizarre planet.

I agree. Lets carefuly examine Uranus.
Hopefully public interest in probing Uranus will increase.
It's a shame, really, that Uranis remains a mystery. By all means we should put the spotlight on Uranus and expose its secrets.

I'm touched that Neverfly even considered using a sig line written by a girl who cut her index finger while shaving her armpit.

    You just NOW noticed that?!

    Maybe you're right...

ETA: I'm not sure I needed to know the rest...

I've cut myself shaving but usually the place in shaving. It can be annoying when I'm in a hurry and have to head out the door with red marks on my face ...

That's why Im Don Johnson fuzzy right now

I haven't shaved in 30 years (since 2 days in the sun left me with blisters on my face). I do trim for length and shape on (or near) the solstices and on the vernal equinox (I skip the autumnal equinox to preserve my Santa Claus look for Christmas).

I was off the board on the 25th because of a track meet and homework.
I was brushing the hairs off the razor blade and I put a little too much pressure on my finger, causing it to be cut.

    Fascinating...

And the difference between our ages is the product of your age multiplied by 1.230767.

LOL has appeared in the New York Times, I believe. However young you are, I consider you one of the "old guard" of supercool regular posters I admired as a lurker.

    WOW

    I'm 29.
    "Old guard regulars" eh? <chuckle>

I've actually done my best to avoid peoples opinions about me here as I'm sure I wouldn't want to hear them.
However, in spite of a couple self-bans (more on the way too) and enough moderator warnings to make me blush...

For some reason I seem to end up comming back to BAUT. I was a lurker for a long while. But once I broke out of lurking I seem to have a bit of trouble going back to it...

    I pronounce it "U-ran-us." Short "a."

I wish the name Ouranos would have been chosen in official modern usage instead.
