    It's not my fault

This could fit in the dumb criminals. But the emphasis is the excuse that is given for the outcome.

Man blames car accident on backseat sex
...his Chevy Blazer hit a telephone pole in the Moscow, Idaho, area.
According to court documents, Frank told police his SUV is top heavy and the backseat action made it become tippy.
I wonder if he was tippy too.
Did he ever think of the words "stop that?"
Did he ever think of stopping? Maybe to join in?

    LOL.

Can't dream of what OJ's excuse will be... But that's for another thread.

Once again, common sense, like Elvis, has apparently left the building (vehicle). I wonder if the words, "get a room" ever crossed his mind?

    Probably not.

By the way... MSNBC had slightly more information on their article.

A 22-year-old carnival worker...who is living in a trailer parked on the Latah County Fairgrounds...Frank left the accident scene with a minor head wound...
I wonder if the accident caused the head wound, or if he already had it.

Woman Left In CT Scanner After Clinic Closes

A physician who works at the practice and knew of the incident said it's not the first time such a thing has happened.
Once is not enough to change your procedures for lockup?

"People have been left in the office after hours, when something like that happens -- it's the same sort of thing," said Dr. Steven Ketchel. "My guess is she was lying on the table, waiting and waiting and nobody told her she could go home."
His guess? And this from a person with a medical degree...

He almost makes it sound like the patient should have spoke up...

    The only remaining questions are

    1. How many potatoes were involved?
    2. Is this fellow related to Senator Craig?

Accused dentist claims breast rubs appropriate

A dentist accused of fondling the breasts of 27 female patients is trying to keep his dental license by arguing that chest massages are an appropriate procedure in certain cases. Mark Anderson's lawyer says dental journals discuss the need to massage the pectoral muscles to treat a common jaw problem.
Either he has quite a lame excuse, or he really needs to do a better job communicating his treatment techniques.

    From the article:

Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Phillips gave Lew three new complaints, including one from a 31-year-old woman who said Anderson fondled her at least six times over two years.

She took to wearing tight shirts with high necklines, "and Anderson would still [censored! ]"according to a police report.
Funny. She kept going to see him though...

I thought when women want to ensure a man doesn't pay attention to that area, she wears a loose poofy shirt with a high neckline, not a tight one?

If it was me, she would wear loose turtlenecks and find another dentist.

Police say Anderson said during recorded phone calls that he routinely massaged patients' chests to treat temporo-mandibular joint disorder, or TMJ, which causes neck and head pain.
    Fondling is different from massage.
But that is disturbing , if the dentist is after the treatment of the common jaw problem , he should concentrate on the neck muscles not the chest .

Forget dieting. Obesity a result of modern life

Weight gain does not result from people’s actions — such as over-indulgence or laziness —alone, and is a far more passive phenomenon than is often assumed, according to Foresight.
Tackling obesity, [...] requires a range of changes in society, from increasing everyday activity through the design of the built environment and transport systems to shifting the drivers of the food chain and consumer purchasing patterns to favor healthier options.
Increasing everyday activity? sounds like exercise.
Shift consumer purchasing patterns? Such as indulging in fatty foods?

I always thought a society was made up of people and their actions.

Hey, it's not my fault I work in a cube farm and somebody brought a cake in today. I don't have the time nor the free capital to join a gym.

Give me drugs, a gastric bypass, and drop the bill off to my insurance company. Wait!?! What are you doing raising my premiums!!! NOT FAIR!!!

Slightly OT: (Not referring to you SJ) I drove by this gym the other day and I could see these folks thru the large windows - all on stationary bikes, treadmills, stairmasters, etc., and the weather was beautiful. Jeez.

People, just go outside and take a walk. It's free.

In reality - I run 5k every morning at about 6 am. It's still quite dark here at that time and the skies are beautiful. I really need to take the time to learn more about what I'm seeing. Orion, Venus, and the Big Dipper are the easy ones.

I also need run the route with a 22 to take out the street lights.

Right now, Venus is making a nice group with Saturn and Regulus. At 6am the twins of Gemini are nearly right overhead, with the little dog star Procyon just south of them. Sirius a little farther.

Depending on your latitude, you might be able to catch the star Canopus just barely above the southern horizon. It'd be beautiful, if you can find it. That's as high as it gets around here.

If you can jog in the woods with your school, it's even called Cross Country and you get a spiffy jacket!
Nothing like out in the state park, out on the peninsula, with thunderheads moving in. Pure elemental fury.

OSU Fans Attacked With Beer Cans

Ok; fans at a game or in the parking lot being pelted with beer cans is an issue worth investigating.

    But;

Ohio State fans at a pre-game Penn State frat party? That could be considered inciting a riot.

Edit: found the video here. WARNING... it's a frat party...need I say more on the language?

Watching the video all I could think of was a new computer game:

Keg Comrades: the First Person Beer Shooter
