A whistle stop tour of our Solar System

I found this little film on YouTube which is about our solar system, produced by the magazine New Scientist.

see if you can spot the error without hunting through to my comment on the movie.

They said that Io's volcanism was due to being "deep in Jupiter's magnetic field" rather than it being due to tidal heating. Shades of EU.

I suppose you could also get picky on "nearest star."

I say there is an invisible elf in my backyard. How do you prove that I am wrong?

That was really annoying. Gravity=magnetism. Yes, let's contribute to the collective Neanderthalization of the human race.

To be fair, the word "extrasolar" was quite prominent in the sentence before the one about the nearest star, so I'd probably say that was OK in context.

Not a bad little film, except for the Io statement.

I'd show it to my online solar system course if not for the Scottish accent. ("geezers" )

Yep; but there were a few other things. I wasn't happy about the inference of Mars being so difficult to reach, because so many probes haven't. How many probes other than Mars actually were meant to land?

    Muins around Planets.

Actually; I would show it, just to show (subliminally) that space is not completely U.S.

    I wasn't talking about Scotland.
    Yeah, Scottish accents are cool.
