    Sunspots 959 & 960 6/6/07

    Hi all.

These photos are finals from 2 avi movies. both were 30 sec at 1/750 of a sec 15 fps. Taken with my etx 125 a sac 7 ccd and a Seymour solor filter. They were processed in registax and cleaned up using helicon, photoshop and noiseware. The first photo I used more wavelet and more curve.

Here are the same sunspots I took today also

Hi Paul, nice job on your sunspots....

I hope you don't mind me adding my images to your thread.....

Here is a closeup of small sunspots 959 & 960 and its tiny companions....small chance for more x-class flares, like the one today!

I took this with my new DMK 21AF04.AS Firewire Video Camera attached to the prime focus of my 10" LX200 operating with a 2" apeture Mask and a Baader Solar filter.

The raw data from this video camera is surprisingly clean and low noise....with faster frame rates too(60/sec)!
Much better than my old Toucam pro 2, I can't wait to try it on Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and Venus, and even the moon should be very clean and sharp.

The seeing was very poor today, but the DMK camera still did a decent job on these rather small sunspots considering how bad seeing was.

The images were saved as uncompressed 640x480 Raw AVI files.....of about 30 seconds each. Processed in Registax 4 (594 frames)

The DMK camera specs can be found at http://www.theimagingsource.com
