    Mercury in good seeing

This afternoon I got a period of very good seeing and was able to image Mercury at a large image scale. It is a crescent now at around 8.5 arcseconds diameter.

This was taken with Takahashi CN-212 with 2x Meade APO barlow, and ToUCam with IR/UV blocking filter. The sky background is so bright because Mercury is so close to the sun.

    Great work!

What do you estimate your effective resolution is, in arcsecs?

    Thanks!

The telescope's maximum resolution is .55 arcseconds. Each pixel in that image is around .21 arcseconds.
