Well, compared to the rest of you, I am in way over my head in terms of equipment, experience and knowledge about astrophotography. However, I have been playing around with a new camera, a Kodak EasyShare Z612. I chose it for the 12X optical zoom. The other night, I took it out back to take some pictures of the moon. Attached is the best one. Hand-held, auto exposure, flash on (it just gives a slight highlight to the foreground palm frond) and unrefined.
It is not a spectacular image but it conveys what I feel is the personal, intimate awareness of the universe that those who just take the time to look into the sky get to experience.
