    PX - My View

Today is June 7, 2003, 11 days after Nancy Leider said the world would end with PX.
That just about says it all, doesn't it?

What we will see is that she will not go away and neither will the true believers .... They will be back and re-group like the al-quida ... or the other nut groups that are around ... ..

    8) Hello to Everyone here!

All of the Planet X stuff reminds me of something I read when I was much younger than I am now. It also reminds me of a time when a person who had been a friend of mine asked me to view a video tape by the latest theorist on the ever moving magnetic poles. I viewed the tape and took notes. I checked it against articles in scientific journals. I handed the tape back and said, "I understand your fascination with this subject. It must be exciting but I do not see any validity in this whatsoever."

That "something I read" many years ago was a book written by Eric Hoffer titled, "The True Believer." The reason you have been unsuccessful at convincing many of these people of the untruths and errors in their beliefs is that you are reasoning with madmen. Belief is not based on fact. It's a hypothesis drawn to a conclusion backed by emotion.

"It is a truism that many who join a rising revolutionary movement are attracted by the prospect of sudden and spectacular change in their conditions of life," wrote Hoffer. "A man is likely to mind his own business when it is worth minding. When it is not, he takes his mind off his own meaningless affairs by minding other people's business."

Even those whose avowed fealty is to "reason as the only absolute" have scarcely proven immune to the lure of a structured, self-absorbing ideological movement. "I read The True Believer when I was involved with Ayn Rand's Objectivist movement and recognized myself and everyone I knew," reports one erstwhile Randian on the Amazon.com site. The recognition is not unique.

Fortunately, true-belief is not an irremediable condition. Some, alas, surrendering to a surfeit of disillusionment, cure themselves via the unlucky expedient of throwing out the baby with the bath water. Still others dig in their heels and determine to remain in true-believer mode come hell or high water. But many do find it possible to let go of zealotry even as they hold fast to their idealism; an idealism that now rests on a more independent and hence stronger foundation.
For more reading as per the above go to http://www.dailyobjectivist.com/Heroes/EricHoffer.asp

Life, the Universe and everything is in-process. Progress occurs when we learn and develop ourselves. Like these True Believers I shall make a prediction too. I predict that although there may be die-hard believers in Planet X, the vast majority will drop/forget it in the near future. Perhaps by Christmas!

    Best regards!

We were able to convince many - but these were the people who weren' actually looking forward to the death's of 9/10 of the world. The people we were able to help were people who had lives and were generally happy people.

And I think that at least 50% of the people who believed were this type - and those people are now rehabilitating. The people who refuse to stop believing have more issues at hand - you gotta really look ata person who is gleeful to know that everyone around them will die while they are saved - makes you feel superior - something they probably have never felt in their lives before.

    Anyway, sorry for the rant.

    Welcome!

    The Neverending Story...

Those for whom logic never worked in the first place are still getting strung along. For the nonce, Nancy Lieder has stuck with the "White Lie" explanation (that the Zetans give her a false date to purposely mislead the global power elite who plan to, I guess, make everybody stay where they are and then die because... uh, because they're evil. Evil evil evil.

Beyond that, the Zetans advise "specific dates should not be anticipated"

In the meantime, she continues to point to the signs (weather, supposed signs of slowing rotation, world politics, etc.) and basically give the very strong impression that it is right around the corner. Obviously, this can go on for a while without requiring more than minor adjustment to the message.

The thing you have to remember is that, having swallowed the Big Lie (Nancy Lieder is in telepathic communication with aliens) the adherents went on to swallow a bunch of smaller lies, from the worldwide government conspiracy to all the sundog and pixel defect photos to the idea that there is something going on with the weather and earthquakes. Having laid that foundation, if you're a not the sharpest logic probe in the block you can just roll along with the ZetaHype: anytime SOHO hiccups or goes offline or produces artifacts on the image it's a coverup. Any interruption or change in flow of online earthquake data, well, that's the coverup. What better proof of increased earthquake activity could you have than that the scientists in the best position to know about it say it isn't happening? It's a simple strategy and almost anyone can play: find some esoteric source of information, watch it intently. Report anything you interpret as supporting your case. If there is no evidence, you have proof of a coverup. Anything that is an anomaly compared to your casual observation of the resource is a coverup.

So you see, it is not just a matter of the ZetaTalk May 27 date passing so hey, let's get back to reality. The poleshift adherent has a choice to make: admit that you have been misled or mistaken about a great many things, that you allowed yourself to be duped by fuzzy fotos and unsubstantiated personal accounts and earth changes evidence that is just the hohum day to day of a planet in constant flux... or else get dragged along as the thing gets revised, and revised, and revised.

Cognitive dissonance is a beast. We don't like to go back and say, woof, what a screwup. You'll notice when people who started out fearful of Planet X but were convinced by the case presented here and elsewhere in its nonexistence talk about their former belief, they often act coy, embarassed and apologetic.

My big curiosity is, when will Nancy Lieder (or the crazy bug in her head) determine that a new take on the continued pole-shift failure is needed, and what will it be. My personal favorite possibilities (see them here now, we're bound to see something similar later) are:

    1) This Was Only a Test.
The Zetans warned us 9 years early to see if we had evolved enough to get through a Pole Shift and rebirth the perfect society. Well guess what, you failed and you better do a lot better next time! How? It's so easy - just listen to Nancy... Always listen to Nancy

    2) Well, That Was a Close One.
Planet X just missed getting close enough to shift the poles. Now it's traversing the short end of its orbit but it'll be back within X weeks/months/years. The Zetas knew it might miss on the first pass, but they didn't want us to get a false sense of security. I guess if she was just a con (I still figure she's pretty much just crazy) and wanted a "graceful" exit she could say it just grazed us and is back on its way out of the solar system - see this sundog? See this perfectly normal SOHO image? See one of the dozen or so hot pixels in this digital picture of the night sky? It's Planet X, on it's way out! See you in 3600 years, amigo!

    3)You're Welcome, Humanity.
The Zetans have been working on a technological scheme to deflect Planet X all this time - again, they didn't want us to know because they wanted us to be prepared. Proceed to exuse # 2, everything else is the same.

If I figure Nancy Lieder's psychology right, she will not accept an explanation that doesn't preserve first the Zetans and their supposed accuracy, second the real presence of Planet X in this general time period, and finally her role as the harbinger of doom. But I think we're in for another couple months of "it's coming, it's coming" first.

Ok, forgive me if this was already mentioned. But there is so much to this site I have not gotten a chance to read everything. Still new here.

Well here goes :-? This is about the "white lie"

To me this is just more proof that Nancy doesn't think things through before she speaks

Nancy says that the Zetas made up this "white lie" to fool the government so they would not try to stop people from fleeing when the time came. So what were to happen when if they came up with a new date that was the correct one? The government would find out because....THEY KNOW ALL!

I hope ya'll understood this......forgive me if it didn't make sense ops: And again I know that Nancy is nuttier than a friutcake.....this is just hypothetical

Yeah, the white lie, I call that evidence number 14342098234.
Anyway, yeah there are lots of points like you make, Nancy just dont have logic.
It reminds me of the last talk show she did, I think SarahMc posted the transscript, where the host asked her to have her Zetas multiply 2 numbers together, like 234 X 543. Well super intelegent Zetas should be able to give the answer almost instantly. Nancy (in Zeta talk mode) went on and on about how they cant translate numbers.
