    ISS and Radio HAMS

My brother is a radio HAM in Canada, and I was asking him about contacting the ISS.

According to my brother it is on on UHF, around 440 MHz and most astronauts have ham licenses, the station has ham equipment, used when off duty by crew, often they talk with schools and such

So has any one here tried to contact the ISS?

No... but now that I know it's possible, I will probably try! (Just have to wait for the ground to thaw so I can pull the old radio equipment out of the shed....)

Here's a page on it. You can also search google for "ARISS".

I say there is an invisible elf in my backyard. How do you prove that I am wrong?
