Hi all, I'm extremely new to the whole astronomy/astrophotography thing and hope to become familiar with the community here.![]()
I just had a few quick questions that might be stupid but things that I am having trouble with. Ok first of all, I bought a T-Ring for my Nikon and an adapter off of the Orion website and wanted to test out for prime focus photography. My first target was the moon. Obviously when I looked through the telescope before at the moon, it looked much closer because of the magnification of the eyepiece. Now without the eyepiece, it looks much further away. How do I make up for this? Is there a cheap way? Would afocal be a good solution?
Next, the telescope that I currently have I just bought and was very cheap, Orion 70 mm eq. I bought the orion truetrack dual axis motor drive so that I could prevent trailing in photographs, but then I realized that it only fit sky view pro mounts. I returned it and am now looking at this: http://www.amazon.com/Orion-EQ-1M-El.../dp/B0000XMWBW
It looks fine, but at this price I am a little suspicious of the quality. Does anybody have any input on the matter?
Thanks!![]()
