Nancy's SOLID dates from interview last night

Nancy was on a talkshow last night and said that the exact dates the earth will stop rotating are the 20th and 21st..... on the 20th you will see the sunset 2 hours later than usual and on the 21st the earth will stop rotating.....

I do remember Nancy saying that she couldn't give out any exact dates, so what changed her mind?

  2. #2
So if NOTHING happens (again) on the 20th and 21st, does that mean that we can officially call her a nutbag and we can all live in peace again?

What is the likley hood of this happening on 20th and 21st then?

*damn those butterflies in my tummy... I thought they had flown away for good on Thursday*

I would imagine that if it did ,then we would need to run to a safe place....I know these are not comforting words, But what if it does not ,and the next prophet of doom says June 8th...Will the butterflies return again?
I have read very much of what she has said in her website, and I see many of my past Scientific and Biblical beliefs shattered with the info supplied there.
I see many descrepancies also , So should I believe on a gut feeling of fear, because in my earlier years I was instructed that there would be a coming end to the way that mankind experiances Today?......Maybe we are not 100% correct on this site (some might say we are)...But I do examine both sides...And I feel they have a lot of cards they are witholding on the zetasite.
I know you are in the UK, and I know you have children and a boyfriend by your posts....So if what she says is in fact truth ...I believe the UK will fare well, so take your children and loved ones and go to a safe place, OR get fed up with the ** and start to really live your life again.
Get Angry if you must and take control...Because this will not be the last time a doomsday scenario will occur.

Peace to you and your loved ones,

One in a series of fictional Doomsdays

I'm 40 years old, and I recall that every few years there is a publicized prediction of some sort of cataclismic doomsday scenario, or at the very least, a major earthquake in southern California every few years. I've read of various other doomsday/end-of-the world predictions that were made for various dates going back centuries.

So if you're afraid of Planet X, consider the following:

There is something in the human psyche that makes some people think the world will soon end. They make predictions and other frightened people follow them.

There is absolutely nothing in the current Planet X scare to make this prediction any more credible than predictions in the past that proved to be unfoinded. In fact, since it is now May 17 and there is nothing in the sky, weather or earth to conform PX other than a few fuzzy artifacts in some pictures, you can now put PX to rest.

I lived in Southern California for much of my life, and although I have been through a few big earthquakes, they never happen when there is a publicized prediciton. They only happen when there is no prediction.

If there were no dooms day predictions at all, that would be something to worry about

  6. #6
Personally, I can't wait until the 20th. If the sun doesn't sets two hours later, we can all breathe easily once more! This will just be one more prediciton in the long line of failed ones. I think this is one last ditch attempt to keep ZetaTalk alive for a few more days.

I just took a look at the Naval clock website: I'm still keeping good time compared to my wall clock.

  7. #7
This clock business.... The Naval Clock is supposed to have been losing time, so they added minutes to it to make it correct?

So would we actually see a difference in our own clocks? Would our clocks show the difference or would they be the same regardless as the Naval Clock are are making up the difference?

I never could figure that one out.

Basically... I havent changed my clock since I put it an hour forward in March. It says 7pm at the time of writing this. Would I notice the difference?

  8. #8
Well Nancy says that they are altering the clock, but I set my mechanical wall clock by it 3 months ago and they still match. Unless someone is sneaking into my room at night and altering it, nothing has changed in terms of time.

Good, only a few more days until this is all gonna be over with. Now that she's given out exact dates, it's "Do or die". Not that anything's gonna happen, anyway.

Not if there was a massive government conspiracy to fool the public. Didn't you notice those men in black sneaking into your home to set your clock forward a few minutes? Actually I'm sure they will present a better conspiracy in that any electric clock running off public electricity can be controlled remotely by the power plants. To a small extent this is true. But they cant control non-public-electricity clocks (without the men in black anyway) and they cant control the stars. Did you know the stars rise 4 minutes earlier every day. Every day of the year the stars are will be in a certain spot. 4 minutes may not be enough for the average person to notice, but it is for astronomers. So to keep this px business quiet they not only have all the world news under control, they also have every astronomer lying to us saying there is no PX, no earth rotation change, no exceptional weather or earthquakes. They must have OJ coordinating the conspiracy  :P

So if what she says is in fact truth ..
Look, nothing's going to happen, okay? Really. Trust me. Trust us. Trust Phil Plait, the Bad Astronomer. Trust JayUtah. Trust David Hall and JSPrinceton and Nebularain and Colt and DStahl and Grapes of Wrath and ToSeek and Glom and G99 and Greenhalgh and Girl101 and SarahMC and...Golly, there must be a couple hundred people registered here who love Science, who know a lot about Science, and who believe--no, who know--that Science proves that nothing's going to happen. Science requires evidence--there is NO evidence for Planet X. Not a smidgen. None. Zip. Nada. This whole Planet X thing is made up out of whole cloth, like Tolkien, okay? If someone had a website saying, "Sauron has found the One Ring and on May 20, he's going to unleash the Forces of Mordor against the world!", would you be thinking about packing up your loved ones and heading for the hills? I don't think so.

Same thing with Planet X. This is a crackpot with a website, nothing more. Feel free to ignore her, as by July 1 she will be, totally, history.

Look, I'm a congenital worrywart, and for Y2K, I even had some toilet paper and powdered milk stockpiled in the basement, but for this? Nada. Not even a few extra cans of beans. This is so far off in the lunatic fringe that it didn't even trigger my "sensible precautions" radar.

If a planet four times the size of Earth really was heading in, someone would have seen it. During the lunar eclipse the other night, there were probably tens of thousands of amateur astronomers out in the back yard or out in the boonies away from the streetlights, with telescopes and binoculars of all shapes and sizes. Don't you think they would have noticed a planet four times the size of Earth heading towards us, so close that it'll be here in a week? There's no way the government could possibly shut up tens of thousands of amateur astronomers worldwide, not to mention all the real live observatories who have also had their eyes on the sky to see the eclipse. Did you know that just about every college you can name, no matter how podunk, has an astronomy club with a telescope set up somewhere that they call their "observatory"? [snicker ] And a surprisingly large number of colleges and universities have actual observatories, in a building--they keep a pretty low profile, but they're there all right.

All those colleges, all those universities, all over the world, were watching the skies Thursday night--don't you think someone would have noticed a planet four times the size of Earth heading in?

    Of course they would.

    Okay? Got it? Okay, then.

    Josun shame on you

I have this little picture of you jigsaw, shouting at the computer in frustration as you jab at the key pad and throw coffee round the room.

Just as a side line, went for a walk around stone henge today, bit rainy but clears the cobwebs, when it occured to me, we been looking in the wrong direction  Yes we know PX is crap ops: , an we keep saying look at the sky, look at the sky.... it's not bloody there. But the evidence for it never having been 'there' at all, any when, ever.. is all around us. Stone hendge was built over 4.000 yrs ago by HUMANS, its' still aligned to the solstess ( and yes I DO know that some sarsens were re lifted) so is Avbury ring, so is the egyption cat thing who's name I can not seem to spell at the moment but which was built - aguably - up to 10.000 years ago (disclamer - depending on whom you read). all the aincient sites with known links to astronamy are STILL IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE COSMOS now even the 'way out there' sites stress that point.

    I REST MY CASE

ERGO NO PLANET X, NO POLE FLIPPING, NO CONTINENT SHIFTING etc etc.....

are those "NEW" dates as solid as the "may 15th" one ??

  18. #18
About as solid as a matchstick house built upon an Amazonian quick-sand swamp during multiple R 9 Earthquakes and F5 tornadoes (entirely unrelated to PX).

    Carolyn and Jigsaw,

C'mon now, ...you have me all wrong.
Sometimes rather than tell someone like Purplekitten to write to that site and take a flip for themselves, because thier stories change faster than a weekly sitcom on (TV or Tele).

I really try to be diplomatic and compassionate, but if in any event the stress gets too much ,there is escape, I guess if you can call it that.

Greenhalgh, explained the time situation quite nicely, in fact the Sun here sets around 8pm...if on the 20th of May it sets at 10pm...Then I also will get serious as to vacating the present location, or get a good surfboard.

Amazingly, I never fell for the y2k even once, I could not be bothered....See what happens when you have too much idle time on your hands.

Purplekitten,: It was Nancys predictions that got me out of sorts(I imagine now the Government will have time to blow the bridges up in the US.
But no other country I guess)

Carolyn and Jigsaw....I am really not a mean guy, In fact I am more inclined to be called STO...If I may use that acronymn

Your not planning ahead well are you!
you'll have to get your surf board by at least the 19th cause there will be quite a que outside the shop by the 20th!

What about this, you 2 trust all those nice astonomers, meterorologists, geologists an other assorted sci types on this site to not lie to you, to be totaly sincere, when they say they have looked into it an its buncome, balony, hooey, balderdash etc (have I forgotten anything ?)

Newbie lurker here drawn out by this whole Planet X bruhaha.

I admit I went and dug a hole in my backyard in which to hunker down and ride out the coming changes. But, standing there looking at the hole I thought, 'You know, that would look much better with a plant in it.' And indeed, a flowering plum tree was just what that hole needed.

The point of this short fictional tale? Keep on living life. Planet X or not, there is something to be said about the fear this whole thing is creating in some folks. Smile compassionately and let it go. My life is continuing as normal.

And thanks to all of you at these boards always there to answer folk's questions.

    Why this happens

Why do these hoaxes happen? I believe it starts with a misunderstanding of obtained information - every time. And in the end the people at the top of the list of conspirators seem to actually believe it but know they must grasp at straws to maintain that belief.

Example of misunderstood information: My dad. He truly believed that the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains was where North America would split apart and cause places like Calgary, Alberta (Canada) to have beachfront property. I had to explain to him that the Continental Divide had nothing to do with splitting continents at all - it's a divide where water either flows east or west, and not straight across the Rockies. I imagine he felt stupid but he got over it. Some people can't get over it when they're told "you misunderstood the information before you." years ago there was talk of a possible tenth planet, a Planet X. It was said to have an orbit much like the outer planets, which of course would have absolutely no impact on us. Also, when a scientifically uninformed person gets ahold of the word "pole shift" they think the earth will physically flip over, whereas a pole shift actually refers to the magnetic pole shifting, which we already know has happened many times in the history of the Earth, and causes (from what geological data would indicate) no problems to anything on the planet, except that your compass suddenly points the wrong way.

Only the clocks which keep time by counting power-line cycles. This is rare nowadays; most electronic clocks use a crystal timebase.

So, you [i]could[/] make some older electronic clocks, and the old-style electric clocks that used a synchronous motor, run faster or slower by increasing or decreasing the power line frquency from its nominal 60 Hz.

Of course, our power grids combine the outputs of many generating stations. In order to do this without causing circulating currents to flow between generators, wasting energy and possibly causing damage, every generator connected to a grid must be running in synchronism with every other generator on that grid.

So you would have to speed up or slow down every generator in every plant contributing power to a given network, and make them all change speed in synchronism.

    Lotsa luck accomplishing that.

Not to mention the fact that many places have power quality monitors installed which will record a deviance of .1 hz or more. This would show up in data all over the country.

Another thing you can do is log onto your local news website, or check your local paper for the time that the sun sets. See the time, go outside at that time, and see if the sun sets at that time. I mean, the gov't can't shut up every single little newspaper or news agency. Sorry - but those people are trained to break the biggest stories ever, and they would if they knew something was going on.

IF you don't want to bother, then check it on the (what is it?) 20th? And see for yourself that the sun isn't setting 2 hours late.

I was out in my backyard today, enjoying the sunshine a little, and did a little test. First, I just looked up into the sky. Didn't see anything but the sun. Then I put my thumb over the sun, and then looked around it. Didn't see anything there either.

If something is going to stop the earth's rotation in 3 days - we would be able to see it by now. I'm not an astronomy major, but I know this is a fact. I saw nothing.

There have been end of the world predictions for the entirty of the human race. I remember one great one I once heard - from some old crone back in the 1200's or so. She predicted lots of things that really happened, but the end of her predictions ended this way:

"To an end of the world will come
In Eighteen Hundred and Eighty One".

Didn't happen, although I'm sure a few people in 1881 were very nervous.

Nancy has been Spouting the date MAY 15TH!!!! sence the 1980's...if it was going to be may 20th then why hasnt she been saying that date for the last 20 years...she is just buying a lil time before she is forgotten, only to be rememebered at that loony chick who talked to aliens...

Why belive her? She is obviously lying. I used to believe Annie Kirkwood, and this was like ten years ago. There was supposed to w pole shift, etc. In 92. Well? Stop wasting time with this. We all really do have to work all our lives, and not get let off the hook. Why do people think living like cavemen is getting off the hook, though. You have to make everything for yourself. It's a full time job too, but different. I am not listening to anymore of this crap ever again. Ever.
