    Man, I missed something

This place really dies down on Sundays. Where have I been?

    Not here it would appear.
Not very many papers and press releases come out on Saturday, so all the stuff that appears here is opinion and refinements.

Saturday newspapers can be quite interesting because that's the day 'second-string' reporters get their stories published, sometimes revealing a bit more than than the top-tier reporters.

I'm usually recovering from the all night D&D game. We broke up after 3AM last night. Then took the kids on the usual Sunday nature excursion. Saw a wild sea otter today for the very first time! Down at Ano Nuevo state park. Thought it was a seal at first.

Was hoping to see another great white. They feed there this time of year. Saw a positively enourmous one last year off the Golden Gate bridge. And of course since it was unexpected I was nowhere near my camera.

I've been helping a friend move, so I haven't been around half as much as usual the last few days.

Lucky you---all I saw were the elephant seals. Surprising factoid:
...Wolverine...Related to ferrets and weasels, they are the second largest living member of the family Mustelidae (only the sea otter is larger)... BoneClones

Might be a few of us were outside doing something really weird:

Directly observing the sky with telescopes, binoculars, or just plain naked (uh-oh) eyes, the last being most useful for observing meteor showers (or sprinkles, such as this year's Leonids).

Then during the weekend daytime, it's amazing how many non-Inet things require attention.

Of course, I was watching the meteor shower too, but it was a long weekend otherwise.

I couldn't have seen the meteor shower. It's still midstorm around here.

Man, it's been raining so much up this way, and for so long, I'm starting to forget what the moon looks like. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it since September.
