    Neberry Caldera Activity

Seems to be the week for volcanos acting up...

Yesterday evening just after 6pm there was a very shallow <1.2 mag quake at Newberry Crater(Caldera).

The Pine MT. Siemograph did not (next closest to Newberry station) register this quake, but the signiture is a classic one seen due to Magma displacement.

Here is the siesmograph of it. http://www.pnsn.org/WEBICORDER/PNSN/...006092500.html

There is no oficial information statement on this quake and don't expect one. It not part of a swarm nor over Mag 3. At best it can be described as a hiccup

Moderators: Could I ask if someone could fix the Title, it should be "Newberry Caldera Activity".

    Sorry for this.

This Newberry Crater, about 20 miles south of Bend, Oregon.
There's nothing on the earthquake map for central Oregon today. Maybe the quake was less than magnitude 1.

Ye most likely it was, still it's not often you see a single clear signature reading like that one.
