    Novelty theory ~ Timewave Zero

I bring this up to hear different people view on this. I know some (or a lot) of Terence McKenna views are way out there. But beside that what is Novelty theory. I mean I have heard him talk a lot about it and have read some. But the details are over my head.

Some of it seems to be based in real theory but then its almost numerological.

I am not talking about the 'end result' but the 'science' that is was based on, the math I guess. I find it interesting, even though I dont fully understand it, is it even worth it.

I am not worried about 2012

Or is it just a mathematical novelty, is there anything to it?

An earlier thread where this was beaten to within an inch of its life:

In that thread I made the following remark:

What more needs to be said?

Oh well that yeah, of course I agree.

I dont agree with it either but I still dont understand the actual math that it uses, regardless of the meaning.

It is inconsistent with math as we know it - which probably explains why it makes no sense. Perhaps the alien advisors had language issues - or were imaginary. Sounds like crop circles to me.

    wondering

Hay guys.. im a new member and ive read up on 12/21/12 and i think i have new information. i think everyone knows about the myan doomsday prophecy that goes hand and hand with 12/21/12. but has anyone looked at the dates #'s? on june,6 of 2006 everyone was like HAY its 06/06/06 or 6,6,6. well a few days ago i looked at a calender up to 12/21/12 and noticed that there were 6 years left and thought hmmm.... i wonder what the date was 6 years 6 months and 6 days befor that was... and i found that 6 years 6 months and 6 days befor the predicted myan doomsday by our calender system was the date june 6th 2006. has anyone realized this befor cause when i figured it out i fliped...

    Calculate duration between two dates
From and including: Tuesday, June 6, 2006
To, but not including : Friday, December 21, 2012

It is 2390 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date

Or 6 years, 6 months, 15 days excluding the end date
Am I using the right dates? How did you get 6 years, 6 months and 6 days? Or did you put the rollover (not end) of the Mayan calendar on December 12, 2012?

Hi HE_Texmexdex, welcome to the board.

It should be noted that the Mayan Calendar does not "end" in 2012 any more than our calendar "ends" on December 31st. Further, there's no reason for concern, despite a number of claims in circulation forecasting doom and gloom. Maya culture is certainly interesting, just like that of any number of other defunct civilizations, but there's simply no evidence suggesting they had any privileged knowledge of future events, let alone anything that will affect us. Had that been the case, they may have been able to avoid their own demise.

You may edit your last article instead of adding a new one, if you have a little more information to provide.

Did you check your arithmetic in computing that June 6, 2006 and December 12, 2012 are separated by 6 years, 6 months, and 6 days?

yes thank you for clearing that up for me.... i added it back from a online calendar and i rechecked it...... is there someway i can post html? if so i could show you what i mean... maybe its wrong... idk
