    A number 2 crime

This is probably not deserving of its own thread. But, when I picked up today's paper, I had to comment.
Now mind you, this is a metropolitan area, and this was one of the front page stories.
Another case of "it's news because it's cute, and we can come up with many puns."

Someone's stealing horse manure from local hitching rails where the Amish park their buggies.

Time to call out the FBI (Fecal Bureau of Investigation). Or at least Robert Wagner.

Sure hope there are plenty of fans at the trial.

Now I have to wife from the news sources until this dies down, lest she become a copycat criminal/gardener.

    Officers remain on the lookout.
And if they get pooped, they can always find a stool.

WOW, it must be an important story, because now its HERE and HERE and HERE

I'm sure it's going to go national. I'm begining to believe these news people have no horse scents.

Further evidence that for most people, at least for the people influencing what the mainstream media put out, the news has become just another form of entertainment.

The corporations that own the major media outlets do not want you to see pictures of dead babies in Darfur. They want you to swallow the pablum they pass off as news, then get on with things and turn on the Playstation or watch some TV and vote for American Idol. That is their preferred version of an enlightened public.

I find this both hillarious and unusual.

What? No comments about "spreading the wealth?"

It isn't the taking (not theft!) of the manure they object to, it's the manner in which it is being taken, causing the remainders to be compacted into the pavement/soil and made harder to remove. What is needed is for the proper means of removal to be demonstrated. After all, what jurisdiction wouldn't want citizens removing and recycling wastes themselves? It just needs to be done properly so as not to cause worse problems.
