Quite long ago. I am intrigued by the striations on Phobos. If I could have a rock as a spaceship, I would want it to look like Phobos.

Life on Europa is inevitable isn't it? (I mean titchy, tiny bugs etc, not whales)

    From Wikkipedea
With a space elevator, materials might be sent into orbit at a fraction of the current cost. Modern rocketry gives prices that are on the order of thousands of U.S. dollars per kilogram for transfer to low earth orbit, and roughly twenty thousand dollars per kilogram for transfer to geosynchronous orbit. For a space elevator, the price could be on the order of a few hundred dollars per kilogram, or possibly much less.

Space elevators have high capital cost but low operating expenses, so they make the most economic sense in a situation where it would be used over a long period of time to handle very large amounts of payload.

Thought it was Jeopardy and you're supposed to answer with a question and the question is a statement.

If deserting improperly is AWOL, what is proper desertion?

Depends on your level of realism you want. The abandonment of New Orleans should work; the new resort on the shore of the Live Sea may be pushing it .

8 April, 2024, the path of the TSE of 21 August, 2017 does not touch the north-east, exactly.

Did anyone see the total Sloar eclipse of 11 August, 1999?

Without a doubt. Dimension interchange springs to mind. (I just made that up.) 300 years ago it would have seemed impossible to transfer an image of Myself to someone 3000 miles away in milliseconds, through thin air.

Can you comprehend the notion that objects will be physically transferred from one place to another?
